Saint Francis Xavier Parish in Birmingham is seeking a full-time Director of Youth and Children’s Ministry. This person will work in collaboration with parish staff, committees, parents, and volunteers. The youth minister accompanies children and teens to encounter God’s love, develop life-giving relationships, and encourage greater participation in parish life and worship. The youth director is responsible for planning and directing a variety of programs for children (pre-k – 5th grade) and middle and teens (6th – 12th grades) including social, service, prayer, and faith formation. Qualified candidates have a college degree, experience in parish-based ministry, and are practicing Catholics. They are energetic, possess communication skills including social media, can recruit volunteers, and are available on the weekends and some evenings. Bilingual is not required but helpful.
