The Diocesan Catechetical Commission exists to explore how best to proclaim the Gospel and to hand on our Catholic Faith in the realities of the lives of persons across various stages of life. The Commission aims to bring together ministry and community leaders in prayer and discernment in order to expose relevant needs, to review existing outreach, to discover new opportunities, and to propose achievable solutions to our Bishop and to other pastoral leaders on an annual basis.

The Commission is made up of 7 subcommittees, focusing on people in different stages of life according to the model proposed in the Directory of Catechesis. Those subcommittees are for:

• Families
• Youth / Transitional Stages in Life
• Adult Faith Formation
• The Elderly
• Migrants/Emigrants
• Persons with Disabilities
• The Marginalized (Incarcerated, Addicted, Homeless)
